Growth in Loire Valley wine exports
- Every second, 13 bottles of Loire Valley wines are sold somewhere in the world.
- Exports account for 220 million of a total of 1.2 billion euros in sales. That is one fifth of overall production or 70 million bottles.
- Despite a 7% drop, the UK is still the leading export market for the wine region (31%), ahead of Belgium (24%) and the Netherlands (9%), two markets that are showing strong growth.
- However, the biggest surge in growth was reported in Canada where volume sales of the region’s wines grew by 49%.
